It's finally over!!! Now things can get back to normal~~or what passes for normal here!
Not that Christmas wasn't nice~~it certainly was. Ds stayed overnight Xmas eve~~so we exchanged gifts in the morning and DD got here around 4 so we did it all over again!! Everyone was happy with what they received and they don't need to return anything. That must be a first!!
Dh gave me the Ultimate Sweater Knitting Machine and the extension kit. My new Vera Bradley bag is just what I've been wanting~~got the back pack style so it should be easier for me to carry. New pj's will be keeping me warm on these cold nights we are getting now!! Got the cutest pewter pin--it's a tape measure with a spool of thread,scissors,needle and thimble hanging from it~~going to put it on my wool coat.
Made turkey dinner and all the trimmings and it was really, really good!! Everyone enjoyed it but ate way too much!!
After dinner we play Catopoly~~too funny~~ we gave it to DD since she loves monopoly so much and she has three cats. Course she thought she'd win but~~tada~~I did!!I hate monopoly!!!
Dh gave me a candle chandelier but I exchanged it for a different one~~I liked the one at Yankee Candle better and it takes regular votives versus the little decorative candles the other one takes~~votives are much less expensive too!!
Hopefully tomorrow the stores won't be too crowded ~~I'm going to exchange a pair of slacks I gave DH.
I was so happy the knitted socks and felted slippers were a huge hit!! All that fanatical knitting was worth it! DD called today to tell me she was wearing her socks again~~hope she takes them off occasionally and washes them! She did drop a major hint that she'd like a pair of felted slippers too!
Played with the knitting machine all afternoon~~didn't get very far tho~~kept dropping stitches and can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. Tried everything I could think of but no luck. I finally had to stop I had such a backache! I'm going to have to find a more comfortable way to use it. I did manage to get a few inches done~~not good considering all the time I spent. Patience is not my strong point!
Ok--off to bed~~I've got to start getting here earlier!

Two Days to Go!!
I can not believe that there's only two days left to get everything done!! Still working on a pair of socks for DD~~using the Magic Loop method so I have high hopes of finishing in time!! I'm half way through the foot on both of them~~no SSS here!!
Have one of a pair of felted slippers to knit up~~not going to felt them until the recipient can come over so she can try them on during the process.
The weather turned nasty today~~I never left the house~~matter of fact I didn't even get out of my pj's!! Did some cleaning ~the shop vac was nasty so get that emptied out and washed~~played with the birds and cleaned them. They sure enjoyed having time out!!Course getting Cayman back in was a bit tricky!! I swear he knows I can't reach him when he gets up on the center of the cage~~but all it takes is the promise of a Walnut and he's right where I want him!!
Changed the light unit in my mister and it's working much better and even picked up an extra color~~don't remember it having yellow~~now it does.
Finally got all the extra xmas odds and ends that I don't use put away. Everything looks nice~~even did the family room!! Now if I could get my room straightened out I'd be thrilled. I don't think that'll get done until after xmas tho~~
We had the sauce I made with the venison tonight--it wasn't too bad. I wasn't sure if I could eat it but I did mix it with good ground beef and there wasn't much of a difference in the taste. Gave DS a container full~hope he likes it.
Have to go work on socks ~~first a nice hot bath then knitting.

I haven't been here in almost three weeks??? That seems impossible but the calendar says it's true!!
Let's see ~~where have I been?? Had a nice thanksgiving with GD's family. Then went to an open house at friends. Wound up staying out really late--poor DH was the only one who had to go to work the next morning!! Way too much to eat and drink!
Then on that Sat. DD and I did gift wrapping for the Greyhound adoption group at Borders. We weren't busy at all so I got some knitting time in!I was talking with one of the members of BGA and she mentioned they are going to try to place some senior hounds. When they do and send them to their new home they are gong to include "care" packages with them. They'd like some blankets for the crates so she asked if I'd be interested in making some. How could I refuse?? That night I wrote to some of the groups I'm on and asked for yarn donations~~they need to be acrylic blankets for washing and drying purposes. Of course I don't have any acrylic yarns but have lots of time~~or will have once the holidays are over. As of today I've received four boxes of yarn!! I can't believe how generous people are!!
DD and her friend and a good friend of mine have volunteered to help with the knitting!!
Seems like I've been running around almost every day and haven't even really started my xmas shopping!! Don't know what the he&*'s the matter with me but I'm definitely not in the mood!!! DD came over last Sat. and got out all my decorations out of the attic and put back the empty boxes for me!! The tree has been up in the living room for a week with no decorations!! Tomorrow it will be done no matter what!!
On the knitting front~~I finished my mittenettes,Gd's poncho,one mittenette and one sock needed for xmas gifts! Guess I'd better get moving!!
The new den is painted and I put the border up~~looks really nice and I'm glad it's done!! Now we just have to decide what to put in there!!
Well, I'd better get back to the needles!!
